Account & Login

I can't log in to my account

Try resetting your password from the login page. If you signed up with Google or another social provider, make sure you're using the same method. If you're still stuck, contact us at [email protected] and we'll help you regain access.

How do I change my email or name?

Go to your Profile page and select the Account tab. You can update your display name there. If you need to change the email address linked to your account, please contact us at [email protected].

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the Profile page under the Account tab. This will permanently remove your data, progress, and any active subscription. This action cannot be undone.

Subscription & Billing

How do I upgrade to Premium?

Visit the Pricing page or tap the Upgrade button in your dashboard. You can choose between monthly and annual billing. Payment is handled securely through Stripe.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to your Profile page and select the Subscription tab. You can cancel from there at any time — no fees, no questions asked. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.

I was charged but don't have Premium access

This can occasionally happen due to a payment processing delay. Try logging out and back in. If the issue persists, email us at [email protected] with the email address you used to sign up and we'll resolve it promptly.

Can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds on website subscriptions. You can cancel anytime from your Profile and you will keep Premium access until the end of the current billing period, after which you will not be charged again. Any mandatory consumer rights you have under EU or local law are not affected. For iOS subscriptions, refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Courses & Progress

My progress isn't saving

Progress is saved automatically when you're logged in. If you were studying without an account, your progress won't carry over. Make sure you're signed in and check your connection. If the problem continues, let us know.

How do I reset my progress on a course?

You can unenrol from a course on the course page and then re-enrol to start fresh. This will reset your quiz scores and mastery data for that course.

I found an error in a question

We take accuracy seriously. Use the contact form below or email [email protected] with the course name, module, and the question in question. We'll review and correct it.

Mobile & Offline

Is there a mobile app?

Yes — SailQuiz is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. The current version has a free tier (one quiz and three quick challenges per day) plus an optional Premium subscription that unlocks unlimited quizzes, every course, smart review, and full offline study. Currently iOS only; no Android version yet. SailQuiz also works in any mobile browser if you prefer the website.

Does SailQuiz work offline?

The iOS app bundles learning content locally so you can study without a connection. Subscription checks and analytics events are sent when a connection is available but do not block offline study. The website requires an internet connection.

Does buying the iOS app unlock website Premium?

No. The iOS app and the website are separate products with separate subscriptions. iOS Premium is a subscription billed by Apple through the App Store; website Premium is a separate subscription billed through Stripe. They do not share accounts, progress, or entitlements.

iOS Subscriptions & Billing

How do I cancel my iOS subscription?

iOS subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by SailQuiz. Cancel any time from iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SailQuiz. You keep Premium access until the end of the current billing period.

I bought iOS Premium but it's not active on my device

Open the app, go to Profile → Subscription, and tap "Restore purchases". Make sure you are signed in to the Apple ID used for the original purchase. You can also trigger the same action from the bottom of the paywall. If the subscription still does not appear, email us with the Apple ID purchase receipt or transaction ID.

I was charged by Apple — can SailQuiz refund me?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled directly by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID that was charged, and request a refund. If you believe there is a fault with the app itself, email us at [email protected] and we will help investigate.

I bought the old one-time-purchase version of the iOS app

You keep Premium access at no extra cost. The new version of the app detects your original App Store receipt and automatically grants lifetime Premium — no subscription needed. If your device is not being recognised, tap "Restore purchases" in the paywall or Subscription settings while signed in to the original Apple ID.

What should I include when reporting a billing issue?

When you email us about an iOS subscription issue, please include: the Apple ID email used to purchase, the approximate purchase date, the plan you selected (Weekly or Monthly), your app version (visible in Profile), and — if possible — the App Store transaction ID or order number from Apple's receipt email. This helps us match the purchase with RevenueCat, our subscription provider.

Privacy & Analytics

What analytics do you collect in the iOS app?

The iOS app sends a fixed list of product events (e.g. onboarding step viewed, paywall viewed, purchase completed, restore completed, free daily limit reached) along with app version, build number, platform, and subscription status. It does not send your name, email, quiz answers, scores, device identifiers, or location. Events are processed by PostHog.

How can I opt out of iOS analytics?

The iOS app currently does not ship with an in-app analytics opt-out. The data we collect is limited to the subscription and onboarding funnel and does not include personal or sensitive information. If you would like your data removed, email us at [email protected] with your RevenueCat App User ID (shown in Profile → Subscription on developer builds) and we will delete any records we hold.
